What we keep, what we don’t, and how to delete it.

Last updated 28 September 2026

The short version

  • The builder works in your browser. There’s no AI in it.
  • Your answers stay with you.

What we keep

  • While you write: nothing. Your answers stay in your browser.
  • When you copy, download or print it: we add 1 to a count of constitutions made and 1 to a count for that button, once for each version you make. Just the numbers, not who or what.
  • If you contact us: whatever you send through our forms or by email.

What we don’t do

  • No AI reads your answers on this site.
  • We don’t sell your information.
  • We don’t use what you write to train AI.
  • No ads and no tracking cookies. We don’t track you across other sites, so Do Not Track has nothing to turn off.

Who helps us run Preamble

Netlify hosts the site. Tally runs our help, feedback and waitlist forms. Each gets only what its job needs, and each name links to its own privacy policy.

Try it side by side

Its buttons open Duck.ai, DuckDuckGo’s AI chat, with your question, and in the second chat your constitution too: typed in by the link, or copied for you to paste when it’s too long for a link. It goes from your browser straight to DuckDuckGo, only when you press a button; we don’t see it or keep it. DuckDuckGo says it doesn’t keep your chats, and the AI companies behind it can’t train on them and delete them within 30 days. See Duck.ai’s privacy policy.

Emails you’ll get

Replies when you write to us. If you join a waitlist, one email when it opens. Anything else only if you ask for it, with an unsubscribe link every time.

Change or delete

Your answers are saved in this browser so you can come back to them. To clear them, press Start over in Write yours, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. To delete anything you sent us, email hello@preamble.me.

New features

Before anything new launches, we’ll explain here what it keeps, and ask before you use it.
